Mrs. Jamie Beecher is a kindergarten teacher and is the Mile High Teacher of Lowry this year!
Beecher has been working at Lowry for three years. Through this time she has managed to accomplish to be the Mile High teacher of the year. The teachers nominated her and many other worthy teachers for this award. Finally the teachers voted and she got the most votes. A lot of teachers said they voted for her because she’s a wonderful kind person. Mrs. Jenny Spampinato, GT teacher, said, “Anyone who volunteers for Destination ImagiNation like her, has my vote!”
Beecher is proud of working with the children and watching them grow every day to be better people. Beecher’s favorite thing about teaching is seeing her students every day. Her advice for her students is to try hard and give 110% all the time. She would like to work on her organization.
Out of school she likes camping and hiking with her children. If she had three wishes she would have the sun out every day, for no one to ever be sad or mad, and for everyone to have a home and food.
The advice she has for other teachers, so they can also get this award is to just have FUN teaching! We’re happy to have Beecher as our Mile High Teacher.

Fifth grade music challenge is learning Japanese/Chinese drumming in the music room Monday at 2:40
There are going to be 15 Challenge kids in the program. The group must be small because of the difficulty of the performance. They will practice once a week for 45 minutes plus extra rehearsals. They will practice long because it is a very challenging number. Only fifth graders will be in the performance because they have a lot of drumming experience and taiko drumming requires lots of rhythmic skill and style. Read more
